What a great anime. I wish there were other good anime going this season other than this and Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu. The rest all seems like it's for children/for girls/younger people or Chinese garbage. Which if not 95% of what is going atm I'd be fine with, it's needed. But We REALLY need more adult themed anime so badly. Each season it seems there is less and less and we're lucky to get maybe 2 out of dozens of shows to have adult themes.
They seem to be the ones most ppl talk about, why so few?

Ascendence of a bookworm is really good. And while the main characters are children the themes are super mature. Also tomadachi game which is super mature psychological

Pointing out Kingdom and Ginga Eiyuu, are you just referring to military anime for adult themes? Otherwise the slice of life genre should have something. Although there are series aimed for kids and girls, that's not always the case if you're only judging by their synopsis. That's where looking at tags like seinen, shounen, etc can come in handy.

Tomodachi Game is also really really good. I wasn't sure i would like it at first but the writing is very suspenseful. I agree with you that basically every other show right now is basically ecchi garbage or girls shows. I mean seriously another Ikkitousen season? As if they haven't crapped Chinese history enough with that show.

In addition to what kloaf mentioned, Summertime Render and Baraou no Souretsu are two anime with more adult themes. Summertime Render is good now but seems like the sort of show that could get flubbed and Baraou no Souretsu, I'd say is pretty underrated but you'll have to get past it's animation (or lack there of) and if you're, let's say...not the most comfortable with your sexuality you might also find it a tough watch for those elements as well lol

Most overrated show of the year. I keep seeing it show up on peoples recommenced list but it's trash. Just because a show is flopping doesn't make it automatically underrated.

Like I said, you're free to believe what you want, it's not going to change my mind regardless. I've enjoyed the story quite a bit. The historical events it's based on, combined with the characters and their very human emotions and desires make it a pretty compelling story for me and I still look forward to how it's going to play out.

You can have a decent story, even a great story but if your characters are generic af then it all falls flat. The characters in Requiem of the Rose King ain't any different to what I've seen a billion times in other equally bad anime. In fact allot of the characters in newer anime shows just blend together at this point. Nobody is gonna remember or care about characters from shows like Shows like Requiem of the Rose King in 10 years. It's not like these characters have staying power like Sailor Moon, Goku, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto or even Inuyasha etc. It's more consumable crap for the landfill. You watch it move on a forget it even existed in like 2 or 3 years. Shows like Kingdom are like a breath of fresh air in modern anime. Back when male anime protagonists actually acted like men and female warriors were actually respected characters not just fan service first and foremost. Kingdom is underrated, Requiem of the Rose King is more of the same trash.

I am used to Chinese, I don't like the Japanese adaptation, sound so stupid. I am used with both as I read manga and they use there those adaptations, but I also read Shi Ji and other works with their Chinese names, which sound more cool my opinion.

Manga and Anime should not be different regardless, so I think they should keep it consistent. I don't even watch on this website, I download the raw episode and apply the Japanese subtitles manually.

I loved this episode but I didn't like how Xin handled the situation putting all the blame on the lovely Kyou Kai as if he wasn't partially involved too. Well it just goes to show that they are still young and they all have room for improvement. Good episode as usual looking forward to the next one.
